Living A Life Of Rest

Believe it or not, God has not called us to live a life of struggle.  Instead, He wants us to live the abundant life of grace through faith.  Why? It’s because grace is God’s power working in us to accomplish whatever God has committed to us.  A life of struggle, worry and stress is far from the life of grace.  Grace is God working in and through us, while we rest in confident trust by faith.

A picture of the kind of life God doesn’t want us to live is found in Mark 4:35-41.  Jesus had asked His disciples to let them go to the other side.  But while they were crossing over in a boat, the wind and the waves became really terrible.  The disciples began using all manner of things to get rid of the water from the boat.  But Jesus was sleeping there on a pillow.  Finally, they woke Him, accusing Him of not caring if they perished.  Jesus rose up and rebuked the wind and they marveled.  When we are not living a life of resting in the grace of Christ, we will struggle and sweat for nothing.  Only a life of restful trust in God and in His unfailing love and Word will give us fulfillment.  They were doing all they knew to do, leaving Jesus out of the equation, and would have been wiped out in the process.  A life of rest is a life that depends not on the arm of flesh but on the Lord.

The Power of a Compelling Picture

What you see in your mind will determine what you become. Vision is not birthed from words only, good and powerful as they are. It’s the image they cast in your mind that sticks to propel you into your healing, into the miracles you desire. If therefore what you see on the outside doesn’t seem as you desire, go back and review the blueprint within you. It is your blueprint within that drives your reality without.

God is a God of pictures. To birth a vision within you, He paints a compelling picture within you. He knows that if you lack a picture within then your reality without will go adrift.

Brimful Of Power

You are full to the brim.

It is important for you to know that at salvation, God gave you a good head start.  You are full to the brim.  God hasn’t put any believer at an advantage over another.  He knows the significance of our starting point, and has started us all at equal points.  But the bulk of believers really never grasp this significant truth.  They are still begging God for what He has given them, and lagging far behind where they should be.

God is not going to add anything more to all He gave you when you were saved.  What is worse, for those of you still expecting Him to do something new, you’re in for a huge shock.  All the new things that will be created will come from you, not Him.  So, wake up and take your place.

You Are In A War

Yes, you heard me.  You are in the midst of a war, whether you know it or not, and I am letting you know, because what you don’t know can kill you.

What I want to share with you here is very important.  It’s called, Spiritual Warfare, the raging battle between the devil and every living being.  The question is, where did it begin from?  Why?  Is there a war-free-zone?  What must you do to protect yourself?  These and more are the issues we will be dealing with in this article.

Happily Ever After?

I have been warning loud and clear that Marriage can be Heaven or Hell on Earth, depending on how you handle it.  I’ve also repeatedly warned that there’s nothing new in a man or woman that you didn’t see while dating -- you only thought you could either manage it, or that you would change your partner eventually, thus ascribing to yourself what only God can do, and He has not made you your mate's changer.  The saddest part is, if he or she was bad while you were dating, you can expect worse behavior during marriage, and it’s not a curse.

A lot of marital abuse is going on out there, which must never be tolerated. Some are verbal, emotional and even physical.  And please don’t think it’s only men that are doing it -- it comes from both parties.  If you are tongue-lashed, destroyed with twisted eyes, denied everything including a sane conversation, get help quickly!

Dominion Declaration

“And I pray that the participation and sharing of your faith may produce full recognition and appropriation and understanding and precise knowledge of every good thing that is ours in our identification with Christ Jesus and unto His glory.” – Phil 1:6 AMP

Put simply, unless you know and declare what you have in Christ, your faith cannot produce results.  God wants you to say you have it.  That’s how you activate it, by faith.  If God says you have it and you say you don’t then you don’t only lose it, you make Him a liar (Num 23:19), and that’s not to your advantage.  It is false humility to refuse to say what God says about you.

God has given us dominion.  Yes, the devil lost it in the Garden (Gen 3).  But Jesus recovered it back for us. “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.  The last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.” Adam was a mere man.  The last Adam, that is Christ, became a life-giving Spirit, restoring the dead to life (Amp).  And now those of us that are in Christ are new creatures, new species in God’s class.

Be The Real You

Birds don’t struggle to fly, fish don’t struggle to swim; you shouldn’t struggle to be who God made you to be.  The subject of our Identity is huge.  It’s not your driver’s license.  It’s not your circumstances, which is ever changing anyway.  In actuality, it is who God says you are -- the crux of your existence. Once you grasp this subject, your total paradigm will shift radically.  You will flush your system of all old manners of thinking and start living from this place – that you are in God and God is in you and that’s all that really matters.

Exactly what is Identity?  Who really are you?  It is not about changing who you are. Your Identity is seeing yourself. As it really is, the Gospel mandates us to really make known who God says we are a cardinal priority.

Heaven on Earth

Unknown to many of us, when we pray what is generally referred to as the Lord’s Prayer, which is better to be described as a model of prayer, what we are doing is a declaration of war – that as things are in Heaven, so they should be right here on earth. That is huge. You are saying that the evil on earth be replaced with the serenity and splendor of heaven, that darkness be replaced with light and so forth. This is profound.

In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Mat 6:9-10

Time To Man Up

The culture and the media has so relegated the role of the man in the home and the society so much that even the men are themselves out of tune with the reality of who they are.

The absence of real men at their duty posts in the home has led to the sliding down of the moral standards in the society.

Today, four in ten of homes are without a dad. But the statistics are graver among African Americans, where as many as seven out of every ten homes are without a dad. Children are raised by single moms, and in many cases, by grandparents. All of this has come to compounds high school dropout rates and failure rates, and highlights a need to challenge our men to man up.

Unleashing The Power Within

If there is one thing you must learn, it is that you will determine whether or not the life of God flows into, or is blocked away, from your flesh. Without a doubt, this can very well be the most profound lesson you need to learn. This truth will transform your life, give you better grasp of the Word of God and your perception of God.

Let me begin by reminding you that if you are born again, the same power that raised Christ from the dead is resident within you. When you got saved, the Holy Spirit came to take residence in your spirit. You therefore have, regardless of how you feel; joy, peace, and love in your spirit, even though you may be feeling unhappy, depressed, bitter or even angry. It is very important that you grasp this very fact.
