Heaven on Earth

Heaven on Earth

Unknown to many of us, when we pray what is generally referred to as the Lord’s Prayer, which is better to be described as a model of prayer, what we are doing is a declaration of war – that as things are in Heaven, so they should be right here on earth. That is huge. You are saying that the evil on earth be replaced with the serenity and splendor of heaven, that darkness be replaced with light and so forth. This is profound.

In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Mat 6:9-10

To hallow His name is to exalt, magnify, praise His holy majesty and live with this conscious reality in our minds all the time. We are made for His praise and when we are busy doing other things, no matter how lofty and ideal those things may seem, we miss our purpose. God wants us to declare His praise because he cannot praise Himself. Our praise gives Him pleasure.

This people I have formed for Myself;
They shall declare My praise.
Isa 43:21

You are worthy, O Lord,
To receive glory and honor and power;
For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”
Rev 4:11

Our primary focus is the statement, “Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven” (Mat 6:10). The Message Bible puts the same text this way: “As above, so below.” A peep into Heaven tells us that all the earthly miseries, sickness and dejection are not there. Friends, it is evident that the reason God has placed you and I here on this planet is to turn on the lights where there is darkness, be His hand and His mouth where there is sickness, that our purpose is not to offer sweet prayers, good as that may seem. We are here is Him instead to bring healing and wholeness where needed.

What we easily forget is that although Jesus is God, while He was on earth, He chose to deliberately limit Himself and operated within the shell of human flesh – so He can show us what we can do in the power of the Holy Spirit in us. And when we fail to attain the same standard as He, we don’t form a theology out of our failure. The truth is that He has shown us a realm of possibility we have no excuse but to pursue with all our vigor and might, a standard we must embrace as doable, for as we think in our heart, so will it be for us.

When we have discovered who God has made us to be, then we don’t want to be anyone else. God hasn’t only made us in His image and likeness, He has endued us with the power that raised Jesus from the dead, that obliterating powerlessness grossly unacceptable and inexcusable. The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit should mean to us that He wants us to let Him, flow through us, touch the lives of our hurting world, change everything to His glory, if we will just let Him out.

When in Mk 16:17 He says we should lay our hands on the sick and they will recover, He’s saying to us that as carriers of His power, which is who we are, that all limitations have been eliminated by the fact that we are in a place. He’s saying, just stretch your hands and watch me do the healing.

The kingdom mandate of the believer to bring Heaven to this earthly realm is huge. Jesus said in Mat 12:28, “If I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.” What does that mean? He was saying if I do what I do by the Spirit of God, then God’s domain, His kingdom, has taken you over. It means that light, which darkness can never do anything about, has taken over darkness.

Friends, the right rendering of “Your Kingdom Come” should actually be: Kingdom Come! God’s Will – be done! God has chosen that without us in His divine partnership, His purpose will be undone. This is why in Mat 6:10 it says whatever you forbid on earth must be what has already been forbidden in heaven and whatever you permit on earth must be what has been permitted in heaven. You are God’s agents on earth to enforce His will and purpose, and unless you do, nothing will change.

In Acts 4, they arrested the Apostles and then forbade them from preaching in the name of Jesus, but instead, they declared, why do the heathen rage and imagine vain things, then they prayed for boldness and that God will stretch forth His hand to heal and that signs and wonders be done through that name. What was happening was that the earth was resisting Heaven and they stood their ground with extraordinary results. We cannot allow the world to push us back, or to surrender any grounds to the devil.

From the beginning of time, there has been a war between light and darkness. The only truth is that light has never lost to darkness on any single occasion!

Paul captures Satan’s greatest error in thinking he had won by crucifying Jesus, which is a very big regret, telling me that every way he thinks he’s won you, he’s nothing but a loser that he has always been and will remain forever.

Which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
1Cor 2:8

Had Satan known he was actually an instrument of bringing Heaven to earth in crucifying Jesus, he would instead have stopped or blocked everyone that made the crucifixion possible. Right now, you may be dealing with certain stuff you perceive to have come from the enemy. Believe it, it’s a set up. What he means for evil is certainly going to work to your utmost advantage. Stand your ground and know for sure that if you keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, what he meant for evil against you will be for your utmost advantage in the end.

As you go bringing Heaven to earth, watch what you are thinking because the greatest problem of man is between their ears. You are not permitted to think about yourself anything that God does not think about you. Think sanctified thoughts.

I dare you to be an agent of revival for your city, your country, family and church. I dare you to turn on the light, be the agent of change in your culture. You must have the audacity to expect that anything can happen anytime, because you are there. Let the revival begin in your street, shopping mall, offices, anywhere. The kingdom is in you, not on TV, special crusades….you make it happen when you enforce Heaven on earth by saying no to evil, sickness, oppression, etc. – anywhere you are.

Again, let me repeat, you are carriers of the power of resurrection. Have you ever reflected on why Peter’s shadow was healing the sick (Act 5:15). It’s what was overshadowing Peter that his shadow released. You too should go forth and release what’s within you. There is no room for looking back in this kingdom. We must keep advancing.

But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”
Lk 9:62

Let there be no day you rest until you have confronted the work of hell in your domain. A good day therefore is the day when you have watched the works of hell shrivel and vanish by the power in that name, Jesus! That’s what makes prayers exciting. It’s what brings glory to God and Heaven to earth. Go for it!

Through you, may an entire community be transformed. Through you, may relationships, businesses, etc. – be changed for good. Shout this out: Will of God – Be Done!, Kingdom of God, Come – Now!

Many blessings!
