“And I pray that the participation and sharing of your faith may produce full recognition and appropriation and understanding and precise knowledge of every good thing that is ours in our identification with Christ Jesus and unto His glory.” – Phil 1:6 AMP

Put simply, unless you know and declare what you have in Christ, your faith cannot produce results.  God wants you to say you have it.  That’s how you activate it, by faith.  If God says you have it and you say you don’t then you don’t only lose it, you make Him a liar (Num 23:19), and that’s not to your advantage.  It is false humility to refuse to say what God says about you.

God has given us dominion.  Yes, the devil lost it in the Garden (Gen 3).  But Jesus recovered it back for us. “And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.  The last Adam became a life-giving Spirit.” Adam was a mere man.  The last Adam, that is Christ, became a life-giving Spirit, restoring the dead to life (Amp).  And now those of us that are in Christ are new creatures, new species in God’s class.

Birds don’t struggle to fly, fish don’t struggle to swim; you shouldn’t struggle to be who God made you to be.  The subject of our Identity is huge.  It’s not your driver’s license.  It’s not your circumstances, which is ever changing anyway.  In actuality, it is who God says you are -- the crux of your existence. Once you grasp this subject, your total paradigm will shift radically.  You will flush your system of all old manners of thinking and start living from this place – that you are in God and God is in you and that’s all that really matters.

Exactly what is Identity?  Who really are you?  It is not about changing who you are. Your Identity is seeing yourself. As it really is, the Gospel mandates us to really make known who God says we are a cardinal priority.

If there is one thing you must learn, it is that you will determine whether or not the life of God flows into, or is blocked away, from your flesh. Without a doubt, this can very well be the most profound lesson you need to learn. This truth will transform your life, give you better grasp of the Word of God and your perception of God.

Let me begin by reminding you that if you are born again, the same power that raised Christ from the dead is resident within you. When you got saved, the Holy Spirit came to take residence in your spirit. You therefore have, regardless of how you feel; joy, peace, and love in your spirit, even though you may be feeling unhappy, depressed, bitter or even angry. It is very important that you grasp this very fact.

There is one irreversible truth: None of us would be here without our moms. Moms are the ones that carried us all in their wombs; they were the ones subjected to indescribable body changes. And in those early months of our fragility, mothers were the ones there to nurse us to strength. And through many periods of sickness and hospital visits, there were usually none but the moms alone that were there with many of us. Now don’t get me wrong. I recognize that not all mothers are perfect. In fact, I’m aware that there are certain moms that are far from the norm. There ever remains one indisputable truth; they are the divine channels through which we all came and without them none of us would be here. It sure isn’t fair to throw away the baby with the bath water. Honor must be given to whom it is due. We thank God for you and although we might not say it as often as we should, we know you are all so special, so wonderful, so precious, so kind, so trusting, so sacrificial…..On behalf of all living beings, accept our appreciation today and every day.

"Then God said, “Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

Dominion begins with knowledge.

The original dominion was given to Adam in the Garden when he was asked to be fruitful and to multiply and to replenish the earth, and to subdue it and have dominion over it. Man however lost his dominion in Adam’s treasonable felony, when he fell to Satan’s trickery. Adam knew God’s instructions not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, which would result in sure death (Genesis 2:17). However, when the woman ate the fruit and gave it to him to eat, he did eat. Immediate change ensued.

The third chapter of the book of 2^nd Corinthians is loaded with blunt points: All the laws of God and Moses, including the ten commandments have all been fulfilled in Christ on the cross. We are now under a new and better covenant: full of grace and love, rather than vengeance and condemnation (Heb 12:24).

God has made us able ministers of the New Covenant. If the old covenant of death, written and engraved in stones—that is, the ten commandments—was glorious, and made the face of Moses to shine such that people couldn't look at his face, how much more glorious do you perceive the magnitude of the glory of ministration of righteousness! A more excellent glory arrived in Christ.

O friend, for emphasis, the old testament has been abolished. It has been done away with (2 Cor 3:6-15). Eph 2:15 says:

“Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace.”

This was also reiterated in Col 2:14-17. You are not under the laws and ordinances of the old covenant. It has been done away with and abolished in its entirety and replaced with the better and gracious new covenant at Calvary. (Exo 24:12, 31:18, 32:15; Dt 4:13, 5:22, 10:4).
